Walk For Glendalough

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the historic Glendalough Lodge for this annual event. Grab a donut and some coffee at the dining hall before taking off for a morning stroll or bike ride. Don’t forget to visit with the naturalist and his “Mom’s and Babies” nature cart! When you return, a bratwurst lunch will be waiting. After lunch, stay for a short update by the Park Partners on the new bike trail extension and construction of the new trail center that will provide trail orientation, additional historical exhibits, a new equipment rental facility and restrooms.

Past projects funded by this event include construction of year-round restrooms at the trail center, the Molly Stark Lake picnic shelter, the Annie Battle Lake hiking trail bridge, an outdoor seating area, wildlife viewing blinds, restoration of the historic Glendalough Lodge, and prairie restoration.

There is no fee to enter the park for the Walk. Bring the family for some exercise, fun, and food! The event wraps up by 1 p.m., but visitors can always extend their day with an overnight stay in the cart-in campground, a camper cabin, or a yurt.
