The most wonderful time of the year is almost here, and Fergus Falls is pulling out all the stops! The Over the River Holiday Festival is back, transforming our charming downtown into a winter wonderland filled with lights, laughter, and holiday cheer. Mark your calendars for December 13th, 2025, and get ready for a celebration you won't want to miss!
It All Begins on Small Business Saturday: November 29th
The holiday magic kicks off earlier than ever this year! Join us on Small Business Saturday, November 29th, as we officially launch the season with exciting activities from noon to 2 PM.
Candy Cane Lane Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
By mayoral decree, Lincoln Avenue is getting a festive makeover! Meet us at the corner of Lincoln & Union (near Park Region offices) at noon for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony as we rename downtown Lincoln Ave as Candy Cane Lane. This sweet new name perfectly captures the spirit of our downtown during the holidays!
November 29th Activities Include:
Free Ornament Making at The Creation Shop
Bring the whole family for an open studio session where kids can create free ornaments to decorate the community tree (while supplies last). These handmade treasures will adorn the tree that gets lit during the Over the River Festival on December 13th!
Selfie with an Elfie!
Meet Dash Chamberland, the Elf, at Otter Cove! Snap your best holiday photo and get registered to win a Family Fun Pack courtesy of the Fergus Falls Area Chamber of Commerce.
Window Decor Contest Voting Opens
As you stroll down our newly christened Candy Cane Lane, take note of the spectacular window displays created by our local businesses. Voting opens on November 29th, and winners will be announced at the Over the River tree lighting on December 13th!
Double Stamp Day
Support local and earn double stamps on your Holiday Shopping Spree card as you explore downtown shops.
Food Trucks & Treats
Peney Cakes food truck will be serving up delicious treats to fuel your shopping adventure (with possibly one more food truck joining the fun)!
Light Walk Opens
