Fergus Falls, a charming city known for its vibrant arts scene, is set to become even more captivating with the introduction of the Fergus Falls Sculpture Art Walk. This exciting initiative, spearheaded by the City of Fergus Falls Public Arts Commission (PAC), promises to bring a dynamic blend of creativity and culture to the heart of downtown.

A New Chapter in Public Art

Scheduled to debut in late spring 2025, the Sculpture Walk will feature six stunning sculptures strategically placed along Lincoln Avenue, between Union and Cascade. This initiative is made possible through the generous support of local foundations, which have committed to funding the project for its first three years. These funders share a vision of public art as an economic catalyst, enhancing the everyday experiences of residents and visitors alike as they explore downtown Fergus Falls.

Calling All Artists

The Fergus Falls PAC is currently seeking submissions for the inaugural 2025 Sculpture Walk. Artists residing in Minnesota, North Dakota, or South Dakota are invited to submit up to three pieces for consideration, with no entry fee required. Selected artists will receive a $1,500 honorarium and the opportunity to sell their sculptures during the exhibition period from May 2025 to April 2026.

Submissions will be evaluated based on conceptual strength, originality, and craftsmanship. The deadline for submissions is Thursday, February 13th, 2025, with notifications sent out by March 7th, 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for artists to showcase their work in a vibrant community setting.

A Walkable Tour of Art and Culture

The Sculpture Walk is part of a larger walkable tour of public art in Fergus Falls' historic downtown area, which boasts an array of shops, art organizations, and restaurants. Whether you're visiting the farmers market, enjoying the splash pad near the river, or simply strolling along Lincoln Avenue, the Sculpture Walk offers a unique opportunity to encounter art in everyday life.

Support from the Lake Region Arts Council

"This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through grants from the Lake Region Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage fund."
